Job Description

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) invites applications for the 2025/26 Special Needs Assistant (SNA) Panel. A panel may be formed from which appointments may be made during the lifespan of the panel (1-year).

Vacancy Title: Panel of Special Needs Assistants (SNA). Hours per week will vary, depending on the needs of the individual school.

Co. Monaghan Schools : Ballybay Community College; Beech Hill College; Castleblayney College; Inver College; Largy College and Monaghan Community Special School.

Co. Cavan Schools: Breifne College; Coláiste Dún an Rí; St. Bricin's College; St. Mogue's College and Virginia College.

Essential Criteria: Applicants must have attained a QQI Level 3 major qualification on the National Framework of qualifications OR, have attained three grade Ds in the Junior Cert or equivalent.

Important Note: Transcripts showing results must be included in the application form. Without them, the application is deemed incomplete and will not be considered. Transcripts/Qualifications will not be accepted after the closing date, no exceptions.

Desirable Criteria: Previous experience working with young people with special needs, in a school setting.

All appointees will be assessed for suitability to work with young people, including Garda Vetting with the National Vetting Bureau (NVB).

Panel Form 1 (PF1): SNAs in possession of a certified Panel Form 1 (PF1) should indicate this in their completed application form.
